North Carolina
A snowy week in the North Carolina High Country — the kind with an empty trail, crunching boots, and s’mores at the end. In Laura’s words.
Today was a wonderful hike. Nobody was on the trail with us. The air smelled so crisp and clean. I loved the sound of the crunching in the snow and the constant moving water. Ending the night with hot chocolate and s’mores with endless entertainment provided by Olivia.
Last hike of the trip started with Karen Good Hamilton slipping on ice, ripping her favorite jacket, and busting her elbow. We made it to the waterfall where the kids had fun rock scrambling. Unfortunately it’s back to reality 😭
Things happening in 2024 that were not on the list. Making dog food and growing things. Remi has decided he is going to be picky in 2024 so I am just over here cooking for everyone 👩🍳 and trying to grow stuff.
he doesn’t see what the big deal is 🙄
🌤️ Weather we had: Highs around 44°F, lows around 27°F, with snow on the trail (4.7” of precip).
